Support Us

Here’s your chance to make a real difference to the young people of Twyford. We are keen to welcome volunteers to help ensure the continued success of youth work in the area.

There are many different roles available and opportunities for people who can offer different levels of commitment and varying skill sets. Training would be offered for all of these roles. Currently we would like people to help with:

Pop-up kitchen: Could you offer an hour or two after-school or at the weekend to serve drinks and ice-creams from our brand new kitchen to users of the children's playpark in the rec (King George V playing field)?

Events organiser: We would like to hold an official opening ceremony for our new kitchen - can you help? We also need help promoting the Youth Centre at events such as the Donkey Derby, Twyfest and the Christmas Fayre.

Carpentry/DIY: We would like to break the world see-saw record by holding an 80-hour continuous see-saw event, however we need help putting the equipment together. We have all the parts, it's just quite big and Dave needs another pair of hands!

Fundraising: We are always keen to try new fundraising ideas. Can you suggest anything and help us implement it?

Tuck Shop: Could you serve at the tuck shop at Youth Club on a Wednesday evening 7.15-9.15pm?

Health & Safety: Could you help by doing a monthly visual check of the building and equipment and notifying the trustees if any remedial action is needed?

Treasurer: Our treasurer will be standing down in a few months. Would you be willing to take over the role? We meet once every two months to discuss the finances.

Minutes Secretary: Could you take the minutes at the trustees meetings held every other month and type them up? This would be such a huge help to the secretary.

Trustees: The current trustees have established the new charity and successfully manasged the transfer from Wokingham Borough Council to the new charity (a CIO). We are looking to recruit trustees to move into the next phase which is building up the Youth Club for the benefit of young people from Twyford, Ruscome and Charvil. The trustees meet every other month on the second Tuesday of the month (7.30-9pm).
